Ok, not sure what you mean by "brain freeze". To me this is when you get a headache from eating ice cream too fast.

But regardless, you have passed out three times and this time you injured yourself. It is time to call the doctor.

My daughter sipped a frutista at Taco Bell yesterday and passed out from a "brain Freeze". She had immediate medical attention including a cat or brain scan and a spinal tap. All her vital signs were normal, all test came out normal which I think would rule out neurological problems. I wonder how many out there have suffered the same Problem?

This happened to me quite a few years ago. It turned out to be hormonal imbalance -- early menopause. Women can go through early menopause from as early as in their twenties. Best to see your doctor -- have a full blood make up. Can also be caused by middle ear infections. Good luck. It is a truly horrible experience and makes you feel really insecure and scared to move.

Theyve been running all sorts of tests, blood, neurological, heart. They told me that when the nerve gets too cold on the roof of my mouth, that nerve is connected to my brain, and heart, soo it short circuits, but now they are trying to find out if heart or brain, def. in nervous system though. Thanks it happened in sept. so after I read the first answer from Patty jo,I made me see a doctor...thanks,P.J!!!!

Yes, you can pass out (didn't know until it happened to me). Not sure if it is the brain freeze directly--but I had a brain freeze that not only affected my mouth, but also my esophagus/chest. Apparently the sudden cooling in my chest so close to the vagus nerve triggered a vasovagal response that was bad enough for me to pass out. I am hoping it was a rare circumstance, but guess I will find out (because I am certain it will not be my last brain freeze, unfortunately).

This could be a stroke or something serious. Get to a hospital straightaway.

There really are no health risks for "brain freeze".
When something cold touches the roof of your mouth, it triggers a cold headache. The cause is a dilation of blood vessels in the head. The dilation may be caused by a nerve center located above the roof of your mouth -- when this nerve center gets cold, it seems to over-react and tries to heat your brain causing the dreaded "brain freeze"
If you are passing out it is being caused by something else. The "brain freeze" from drinking something cold would not cause you to pass out. You should see a neurologist for an evaluation as soon as possible.

I am pretty sure that you can indeed pass out from brain freeze. I chugged a slushie drink for a stupid game and it caused me to pass out. Really, really bad 'brain freeze' can temporarily decrease the blood flow to your brain enough to make you black out or faint.
