Question

Help answer this question below.

I am now feeling ashamed of myself. People who joined AB AFTER I did are now Sages and Maestroes. And I am still Level 26 Expert. Has this happened to you before? Being left behind when the others are going on and on?

some people spend like, all day every day on here and thats probably how some of them get to be sages and maestros....if you dont spend so much time on here, itl probably take a bit longer to get there. i wouldnt worry about it though

It took me a lot longer to reach sage than a lot of other people. I don't spend a lot of time here and I also don't answer questions just for the sake of answering them (not saying anyone else does either). I will level up when I level up and I am sure that more people who have not been here as long as I have will pass me. That's fine..more power to them!! :-)

It's not a competition. The speed at which one rises in the 'ranks' has a lot to do with how much time they have to spend here. Just because you are still a level 26 doesn't mean there's anything wrong, it means you have a busier life. Perhaps more interesting, perhaps more of a social life.... it might actually be a good thing.

The number of points and the level that you reach are dependent as much on quantity as they are on quality. It's just that some people have more time to spend on AB than others have. Just because somebody has the title of Sage doesn't necessarily mean they actually have any sagacity, just that they've spend countless hours on the site. The only really important reason to use this site is because you enjoy it.

The one that has suprised me is Kyogre, I remember when he started! Now he's a 60 +er! Well, fair play, he has risen to AB Royalty superfast!

You are higher than me, but I don't worry about such things and you shouldn't either. I just can't plant my ass in a chair or whatever in front of a computer as long as some of my other AB'ers. I mean that in a good way by the way folks.

Many people rise quickly due to concentrating on "moderation". They spend hours and hours going through questions and looking for those in wrong category so they can submit them. Some of the highest ranks have upwards of 75% of their points not from asking or answering questions but from merely doing moderation.

T4 - you are doing really well.
Some people are on here off and on all day/night. It is natural they may advance a little quicker than others. It is of no importance. What is important is that you are learning things and meeting great people (((HUGS)))
