I always thought dungarees was just an old-time term for pants.

I've been around long enough to know those are jeans. And in the fashion world what used to be 15 bucks a pair as a functional work garment are now 200 bucks as a fashion statement. ;o)

US Navy sailors blue working pants are called dungarees. That's what comes to my mind when I hear that word. They were something in between jeans and pants....
