Why do people tend to jump to conclusions instead of looking at the facts of life?

Because once something happens people reli only on insticnt instead of stopping and thinking about the right thing to do.

Because most people are incapable of critical thinking. That's also why they tend to gravitate towards extremes. Case in point, America's bipartisan political system.

You can mold situations to suit your own personal agenda. Example: Woman gets invitation to party in her name only. She can say... "creeps don't want my husband around.. want to break up families". This is easier than asking the person giving the party if her husband is included in the invite or not based on the way the envelope was addressed.

maybe because of bad communication. you have to guess the facts about a situation when you don't having enough information, thus this leaves you to judge a situation without enough information about it.
