Commander in Chief.

Marine Corps enlisted: Master Sergeant Rather than First Sergeant. Master Sergeant is more likely to stay in the field with troops, while a First Sergeant is more likely to get stuck in administration. Marine Corps Officer: Major. A major is high enough to take command of company sized units, but is not as likely as a colonel/lt colonel to take command of a battalion. Company command = more opportunities to be in the field with the troops.... Battalion command = more time stuck in a headquarters building with administrative headaches.

Just because I could does not mean I would. If I had to, I suppose I'd steal Eli's answer.

Honestly, civilian. I did my time, and I really like being a civilian.

I was in the Military - Infantry - and I was extremely happy just being the eqivalent of a US PFC. I dislike having to shoulder the responsibility for other peoples screw-ups because my own are enought to handle, and extra pay will never mean as much to me as peace of mind. If I was FORCED to take some lofty position, I would take Six-Star General...and first think I would do is overhaul the entire Code of Military Justice and try and put some of the old pride back in the Services that used to be the norm instead of the modern exception.

Sergeant Major E-9. The other senior NCO's are always buying youn drinks at the NCO club and trying to win your favor ..and you don't have to do much. ..just give your opinions about things. I'd rather be a SMAJ than a Colonel.
