Depends on the "type" of crime. Armed robberies are mostly in daytime, probably because that is when most businesses are open. Burglaries are mostly at night. Some crimes are not specifically time related, but opportunistic; rape, abductions, etc. The police have it down to a science. But there are always exceptions.
