I believe it is called the Harvest Moon due to it being the closest full moon to the Autumnal Equinox (which was Sunday). Yes, I will definitely gaze upon it!!

HARVEST MOON: There was a full Moon last night.(Wed., Sept. 26) and it has a special name--the "Harvest Moon," the full Moon closest to the autumnal equinox. Sadly, it was cloudy and rainy last night so the clouds hid the moon. It did try to peak out at 5:30 this morning when I was heading out to work. It was 65 degrees F last night so it did not feel like an autumn night.
