For the married women...Do you like your married name better than your maiden name?

I often wished I'd kept my maiden name. My maiden name was simple and it was my own and people always have trouble pronouncing and spelling my married name, altho I love my husband's family like my own.

I like my married name better. My maiden name was Hooper. I got made fun of alot, because Hooper rhymes with Pooper-Scooper..

My sister's 1st hubby was Putzstuck, pronounced put-stuck, believe it or not... she'd doing better now.

I like them both. They both have pros and cons. My maiden name was long (as is my 1st), but at least easy to spell and pronounce. My married name is mispronounced and no one can spell it, but it is short! :)

yes, i like my married name better. its less common than my maiden name, but i would say the real reason i like it is because i love my husband very much.

Well, no I'm not married. But let's go ahead to a potential future and pretend that I do get married and it's to who I'm with. I think it'll take some time getting used to. My initials will go from BB to BK. I have always been amused by the BB thing, but hey, BK's a fast food joint XD.

I could've sworn I answered this question. I like my married name MUCH better than my maiden name. Because my maiden name was associated with this narcissistic tyrant. :o/

My maiden name was easy but mispelled constantly because it was almost like another much more common last name. I wanted to keep it because it dies in our branch of the family with my aunt, who hyphenated her name. :-| I do like my married name a little better though, the initials are cool.

My maiden name is smarter - it means the sun. My husband's last name means cotton. And my maiden name is synonymous with very noble families of Arabs. So aesthetically I like my maiden name better. But just having my husband's name behind mine gives me a warn fuzzy happiness...so I'm fine.
