Well, TANSTAAFL (There aint no such thing as a free lunch...). There are plenty of government grants, both state and federal that in a money sense you do not have to pay back. Of course, almost all of them require you to meet certain standards. If you meet the standards, you don't have to pay the government back. If you FAIL to meet those standards, then you're in some legal trouble and/or you have to pay a monetary value + interest. So yes, there are grants you don't have to pay back with $, assuming you meet the standards set forth. Good luck!

Yes there are such things. Most public libraries have large grant books in their reference section. Be careful about meeting the conditions set forth in the grant application. As mentioned in the previous answer you may have to repay them back if you violate the terms.
