If something falls through the floor above my flat, and damages my ceiling in the process, whose insurance would the claim be made on?

    If you own the flat and have insurance and the person who's stuff fell and damged your ceiling and they have insurance, the two insurance companies will get together and work out. If yoou have no insurance on your flat. You might have to force the issue in small claims court if they refuse to pay for damages and it their fault. If neither of you have insurance then good luck.

    If you are renting, then you involvement is nil, none.
