I never had a tree house in a tree but had plenty of play houses in between pine trees. My kids had tree houses started but never finished.

We used to have one built on a platform 20' feet up between 4 spruce trees.

We did. When I was young my brothers built a tree house with three floors. There was never a time when one group was not allowed in. There was always room for more.

Yes, I built or helped build many between the ages of 11 and 16. There were a lot of wooded areas where I lived.

My brother and his friends built a kick a$$ tree house. I was in an old oak tree in our back yard and had 5 levels to it. It had amenities such as a greenhouse on the top made out of old storm windows, a wood burning fireplace made out of a old water heater(it actually worked), and running water.

No, palm trees aren't very conducive to tree houses. :)

A friend of the family moved into a home that had a treehouse already built on it. I would hang out in there when visiting as her kids were adult and grown. Whoever built it put a big wooden Snoopy on the front, it was cool. The treehouse was removed many years ago, but she still lives in the home.

Had one as a kid and now my husband and I are thinking of building a one near the top of our hill somewhere as a little getaway cabin treehouse. We've found 3-4 trees that might be cool to use, maybe even have a suspension bridge to go from one to the other....but first we have to finish THIS house:-)

I built and tore down many over the course of my preteen and teenage years. The last incarnation was when I was about 15 and it was quite the hangout, with carpets and lights and posters and stuff. And it was where we did the things we wouldn't wanna be caught doing in the basement or my bedroom;)

I had a tree house... it was effin bomb. But out tree was over 100 years old and we had a really bad storm and the tree fell... so we had to pull it out w/our tractors. It was a very sad day.

I never had one but a friend of mine did. We used to have so much fun fixing the place up and hanging out in there.

No but there is a house down the road whose garden has a tree house. It looks impressive. I'd love to have a nose around!

Yes. It was large so It had a mini Wrestling ring. In one match my brother dropkicked me out the dor on to a glass bottle. My dad tuck it down after the surgery. I still have a bit of the wood, a chip of the glass bottle and also a nice scar on my neck.
