I remember in the 70's when "zero population growth" (couples would have only 2 children to replace themselves and not add more to the population) was very popular. Do young people now think about practicing "zero populaiton growth?" Why or why not?

Y'know, I've never heard of that. But it sounds like a good idea to me! I know my parents had us kids in the 70's and they only had two themselves, so maybe they were following that practice. What I hear more of from people my age is that they're not having *any* children because there are already too many people in the world and too many children who don't have homes of their own. I am much more likely to adopt for that reason. I don't know if adoption is really a trend right now according to the statistics though.

Yes and no. My wife and I have 3 children, so there was a little growth there. On the other hand, they were from her first marriage and I adopted them. Since I don't have any of my own, that kind of balances things out (I think). Either way, ZPG is still a good idea. We are slowly killing the planet. Why speed things up with more people.
