It depends how much I love my family. SOme people want a little more space from their families, while others cannot seem to get along without them for very long. If I was the latter, I would live in a place that is well insulated, had great central heat and a cozy fireplace, and not go outside much in the winter, but stay close to the family.

I'll pick the cold one thank you. It kills me now that I am so far from mom and can't see her all the time like I used to when I lived in NY and I am not really all that far here in Philadelphia. So I can only imagine what I would be like far away.

I can answer this question from personal experience because one of the reasons my wife and I chose to move from Britain to Lanzarote was that my arthritis troubles me less here. We already lived a 5 hour car drive from our parents and siblings and now we live a 4 hour flight away, so it's not much different.

There are other things you can do to help your arthritis but not being near family can hurt all the time.
