  • They can, and do, to an extent. You'll never "grow" a new tooth but cavities can remineralize using the minerals in saliva (and toothpaste) and broken teeth will firm up at the stump and become hard. Not to say that it is a good idea to let your teeth get to that point, but they will "heal" to an extent. A healed tooth is much more resistant to decay. Your teeth are also considered part of your skeletal system but they are not counted as bones. Your teeth are made of enamel and dentin. Enamel is the strongest substance in your body.
