How do I get my cats to swallow their flea pills?

Crush the pills and put them in some canned food. Dont give them too much food so that they will eat it all at one time. If you have more than one cat make sure you feed them individually.

Change products and buy something like Frontline that you apply to the back of their neck. It really works quickly!

jam the cat tight between your knees so that only its head is out, and you are holding its shoulders. Put your fingers on either side of the head and force the mouth open. Put the pill as far back in the mouth as you can get it, even down its throat if necessary (taking care not to get bitten!) and then clamp its mouth shut and rub its throat until it swallows.

You have to use your finger to shove it back there into the back of his mouth. Then put a finger from your other hand and stroke the outside of his throat untill he swallows. I worked as a vet tech for many many years.

The way I did it was to turn them over on their back, hold their head and shove it down their throat far enough so they have no choice but to swallow. Seems kinda harsh, but it worked with my cat. Just reasure your cat it was nothing personal and hug him or her afterwards.

try wrapping it in a small piece of tuna or ham or inside a small piece of chicken they will swallow fast & not play with in their mouth or accidently spit it out. Thats what I do with my cat & dogs
