I am considering getting a female kitten from our local animal rescue centre, any suggestions on a good name?

I have had several cats over the years, and I would recommend that you find the right cat for you then decide on a name. Typically, there's something special about each animal and I'm sure you'll find the perfect name. I have had Tom, Ernest T. (ET), Joe, Claire, Della, Eve, Arlene, Grace, Blue, Rachel, Holly...and now Lucy and Ethyl are my best buds. Good luck!

Bless you for rescuing a cat. I just got one from the Humane Society who is 10 years old and she is one of the most precious, loving cats I have ever owned. She had been in a cage for almost a year and I really do believe they understand on a certain level that you saved them. As for a name I always wait until I have my cat for a few days because their characteristics will sometimes dictate a good name. I had about 5 possible choices for names when I got my last one and ended up not using any of them because she none of them seemed to suit her personality. She is quite a princess and dignified and I ended up calling her Amelia. Don't even know where that came from but she responded to it and it suits her. Quite often the come with names and if the rescue place has named it then give it one of your own choosing but if it has come from an owner and had its name all its life then I would leave it. TICKLES! :D Instead of the usual Cuddles, Huggles, Mittens... Yunno. Something a bit different :). Me and my brother named our black and white cat Tickles after a mouse character in Land Before Time hahaha.
