  • I am perplexed by the American comedian Freddie Prince’s suicide. I believe that I understand the singer Kurt Kobain’s suicide. I do not, of course agree with his final actions. Throughout most of his life, Cobain battled depression, chronic bronchitis, and intense physical pain due to an undiagnosed chronic stomach condition. This last condition was especially debilitating to his emotional welfare, and he spent years trying to find its source. However, none of the doctors he consulted were able to pinpoint the specific cause, guessing that it was either a result of Cobain's childhood scoliosis or related to the stresses of performing.
  • There is no suicide of which I've heard that I have ever understood. The grief, and utter desolation of those loved ones left behind is a cruel cruel thing to do..the person who commits the suicide is so involved in "self" that such involvement is all-consuming and shuts out consideration for anyone else. I have never and will never understand that. :(
  • Pretty much every suicide leaves me wondering why... Not 'why did they want to kill themselves?', I know why from experience - I keep asking myself "Why? Why do people push people to that stage?" it takes either a very sick mind, or an extremely, extremely bad situation to make someone want to kill themselves in earnest. Bleh I understand Hitler's suicide, he'd almost certainly have been tortured at great length once captured, and even though I don't think he should have been tortured, I wish he hadn't killed himself, perhaps real justice might have been dealt... *shrugs*
  • Hunter S. Thompson
  • There were a couple of Korean actresses who committed suicide a few years ago that really shocked me. No one I'm sure that most of the people here would know anything about. But they were increasing in popularity and both allegedly from good Christian households. Why? Why?
  • I'm perplexed by Brad Delp (lead vocalist for Boston). He was about to be married and go back on the road to tour. Why end it? I'm also still bothered by comedian Richard Jeni, who had a wit, a voice, and a delivery that was the envy of many stand up comics. Never saw that one coming either. However, I was not surprised when Kurt Cobain shot himself. I just wish he'd sought help in time, and thought about what it would do to his child.
  • I think every suicide is really hard to understand and I don't agree with any of them.
  • I can understand Hitler's suicide, I can also understand why he killed his family aswell. I can't imagine those children could have had a happy life in society after what their father did.
  • Donny hathaway- he jumped from his 15th floor hotel window in new york i think it was. Depression is serious. I think about it alot... i would'nt mind dying either. It sucks but so does this life I live today....*shrugs*
  • Suicide is such a horrible thing, I dont know anyone personally so dont ask "why why why" but I can understand two suicides! First is Hitler, if I was in his position I would have killed myself too! Second is Kurt Cobain, if I was married to Courtney Love and addicted to Heroin I would also prob commit suicide!
  • I think if I was married to Courtney Love, I would want to end it all too. I can understand Hervé Villechaize's suicide too, he must have been in a lot of physical and emotional pain.
