It's the martial arts training that Israel gives the Massad so they can be as lethal as they need to. I saw that episode on the History Channel where they were showcasing this very martial fighting form in all its artistry.

Yes, most definately. It is NOT a deep internal martial art, with extensive health science and spiritual meditations, but it is most definately a good method of close quarter combat.

of course. the attitude of the general public regarding what is and what isn't a martial art is ridiculous. "martial" means pertaining to war or fighting, "art" means a method of doing things, or a skill to mastered. it doesn't have to be japanese or east asian at all, it doesn't have to involve high pitched screams, or flamboyant posing and waving of the arms, it doesn't have to incorporate meditation or "philosophy" or any other bulls***. it doesn't have to involve toe-dancing or the wearing of pajamas, it just has to be about defense and kicking a**.
