In some of those cultures (especially in third world countries) where they...mutilate young females genitals. It was terrible. I learned quite a bit about it in 10th grade. =( The reasons are ridiculous too. Oh, to make it worse, they don't use any anestetics.

Probably wearing a corset to squish a waist... it does so much internal damage over time... I've only ever seen one person who did that, but she "swooned" and had to be revived all "ladylike" with smelling salts. Except it was all because she couldn't breathe like a normal person, and had squished herself all around!
