Why do people grow their hair just to cut it off again?

It would be just to expensive to get it cut everyday and not let it grow out.

I know a few people that do it for cancer patients (I've done it). It's pretty cool.

It's a conundrum. When I have short hair, I want to have long hair or the sake of a flowing, pretty, feminine look. When I have long hair, it becomes a burden and I want short hair again. Luckily, my hair grows fast enough that if I wait a few years between each time I decide to chop it all off, I can sort of have both. Those in-between stages bug me, though.

I just did it. I had long hair to my shoulders and then buzzed it with a #3 all around. I do this all the time - grow my hair then shave it all. Usually, I cuz it off at a transition point in my life. Here's a before and after...
