Most of them had really bad childhoods. Howard Stern asks the porn stars when their father left them or who molested them. Most of them give somesort of answer that fit the "bad childhood' scenarios. And I am talking divorces, molestation, runaway from bad home life.

Bad genes. Its like an alcoholic with bad genes. Porn is like everything else, addictive.

You haven't really discovered the sex industry until you work there. I know that a lot of people tend to have stereotypes about porn actresses and prostitues. I can't speak for all porn actresses and prostitues. Everyone has a different reason to be where they are now.

Money, drugs, sex addiction

My best friend has just got a job with a porn company.. and the only reason she is even considering it is because of the money... it's really easy money and it's doing something most people enjoy doing.. if you're comfortable enough with your body and having people watch you.. it's basically getting paid for being human.

There is a lot of money to be made! Plus, I think they probably just enjoy what they're doing and like showing off what they've got.

I used to believe in the official line of thought which saw at least female porn actresses as coming from broken homes, out on the street, needed money to feed their drug habits, yadda yadda yadda. Now I believe that that's at least not the rule -- I don't think you could perform in front of a camera if you didn't enjoy being there. And certainly you couldn't do it time and again. Many of the female talent seem to be going into it because they like the sex, the attention and the relatively fast money.
