Help answer this question below.
Yes, I feel it is imperative to disconnect now and then.
Yes as long as you guys have each other.
Yes, I could be and I have been. It can actually be quite freeing.
Yes! I really need a week like that.
Heaven...it must be heaven...wow
Absolutely, definitely, of course, yes!!!!
Oh yeah! I spend my whole summer vacations disconnected. That's why there's that lapse from June to mid August when I'm not here.
i could do that if lee went with me ,but it would have be to for six months and i dont want either of us to be interuped.we need to get back in touch with each other. but i dont think that would be happening any time soon.
Hell yes! I would love it and someday my wife and i plan to make it a reality!
When I first read this, I thought you said you were walking away FROM your wife and animals! I'm glad I mis-read! Haha.
I actually JUST got back from camping for a week, where I was disconnected. It was unintentional though. I brought my cell phone, but it didn't get service where I was.
I would love to have that disconnection for even 3 days right now!
P.S. Will the cats like the ride?
Sounds like fun so enjoy it.
I could stay unplugged for something like that;but
there would have to be a good reason!!!!!!!!!LOL!!!!
I could be disconnected for the rest of my life. I hate the cell phones and the rat race. I might have to come back to town during football season though, then leave again after the Superbowl.
That sounds heavenly. I did similar for three months and I had the time of my life.
I sure could be! Have a wonderful time. I am so jealous!
I've done it many times as a soldier and apart from "SARGE" it was brilliant. Enjoy it :)
I would love to do something like that. Sounds wonderful. Have a great time!
Totally! Did it this summer. The 1st few hours were tough... but I felt so good and free after a few days that re-entering the real world was kinda tough!
yes! i lost my handphone once and i decided not to get one yet... for almost 2 months i was free and it was so refreshing! nothing to worry about... but i had to get 1 if not i'd miss a trip to boracay and it would suck bigtime if i did... but just the 2 of you? i think that would be great... i'd love that! thanks for the idea ^^
Enjoy your time my friend!
I know I can because I have done so, but not by choice then and it would not be by choice now.
You must be back by now. Will we see a report on this entry?
That's crazy to not carry a phone. What if something or someone tries to hurt you God fobid. If I was you I woul carry a phone and don't forget your compass.
Make it a month and you've got yourself a deal.
I've done it and enjoyed it very much.Have fun!
Ooooh that is fun to do every once in awhile. To not let people think they have access to you that much. To just have simple time, no stress of sad news on the tv, no stupid drama that your friends tell you. Just you and your loved ones. I hope you had a wonderful time..I love to do that.
i don't think i cold ever do that totally, no.
i couldn't in the woods.
but maybe on a beah somewhere.
no tv, computer.
but i could never live without a phone.
Oh yes, it would be wonderful, actually we are trying to find a place to homestead further out of town than we are now. I will be so happy to find something soon, we will grow our own fruits and veggies, (more than we do now). We have lived like that before on someone elses property we leased, but we want to own our own property.
When can I start?
I would need to do a little planning, but I 'd love to.
yes...you dont even notice when your on holiday.
Yes sir especially with my hubby all alone I so wish I were you, but I have 3 kids right at this moment who need us around so maybe in the future.
It would be entertaining to know how the cats do being disconnected from their normal environment.I would welcome a week of disconnection. No dirty jobs.
Hey have a great time Nelson, you will be sorely missed (what happens if i need you re the jetpacks??) Actually i will be 'offline' too from the 1st October until 10th as we are also going on holiday with the kids...so it will be my turn next !!!
Just was and it was super lovely!!
I did it for two weeks at the end of August. I'm not much of a camper, but we did alright.
Absolutely! I am VERY envious of you right now, and if I could afford another vacation at this time, I'd rent a cabin out in the "boonies" and do the same! Good for you!
No.
yes absolutely wouldn't bother me a bit.Enjoy yourself
I crave it. In fact, I'm planning the same thing for next Fall. I'd do if for a solid year if I could.
definitely. Especially on a sailboat sailing the South Pacific ro the Greek Isles.
I was disconnected for a year. It was tough. It was spiritual. I would never give it backa and I would never do it again.
I could do it alone. But if I were in the same situation, I would probably not stay disconnected from my wife...
;-)
Yep, especially if I had my husband and kitty with me.

Do you know where to go when you want to play in the snow? Lassen Volcanic Ntl. Park in northern California. 2 days ago hubby and I did it.

You're reading I'm going to walk away for about a week with my wife, cats and dog. We are going to a cabin in the middle of nowhere by a river tomorrow. No computers, no phones, just us. Do you think you could be disconnected for a week?
Comments
Thanks, and we disconnected as much as we could (a couple of phone calls, but no computers). My wife and I went wandering around in a river in the mountains with the dog in the mountains. It was hard the first day, but there was a certain feeling of release on day two.

Yes, once I get into the beauty of nature, I don't really miss the "e-world".
