If repetitive means the whole solo after solo strucuture alot of jazz then i think that the point of the music. maby try checking out some of the more fusion stuff. that way you get the improvisation and instrumentation of jazz but somtimes with a more set structure and feel such as pop, funk, RnB or what ever the fusion is bettween.( Alot of people DONT class this as jazz, and it isnt but it deffently ues elements of jazz in its music. Try checking out some : John Schofield, Jaco Pastoruis, Micheal Brecker or Dave Weckl Band
