  • You're right...difficult for me is "what are your strengths and weaknesses"...and "where do you see yourself in 5 years time?" I don't want to respond "Retired!"....! If at all possible, check in your area for an employment counsellor or an organization which coaches folk to write a skills-based resume..a dynamite cover letter, job search/networking skills, interview skills etc. You might find something in the yellow pages...In Canada they are called Job Connect or Employment Connections. Also Canada Employment Centre has workshops for just this purpose. There are also excellent books on job searching and interviewing...check the library and/or bookstore. Good luck!
  • Ive learnt to be true to myself and that means not doing hoop jumping or game playing in interviews. If I go for a job that is suitable for me, the interview is informal and those sort of silly questions are absent. All the jobs Ive done for the last 6 or 7 years havent required formal interviews.
  • I got stumped on 'name someone you admire and tell me why you admire them'. My mind went sooooo totally blank, but I finally just blurted out "Martha Stewart - for her ability to take a little and make a lot out of it." This was years ago when it was still cool to like Martha. I got the job, by the way, but it certainly could not have been based on that answer!
