Metallica. The number of great (and not just good) songs they have is astounding.

SOAD BABY! I love both bands but System of a Down are so unique. Not to say Metallica are like everyone else, but who can you really compare system of a down to?

Wow. Not in the same league. I mean I think I like SoaD better but you cannot compare the two. Metallica has accomplished TONS more. I love Chop Suey though.

Metallica. System of a Down is good, but they're too political and annoying at times.

System has always been a great band from start to finish. And we all no that old metallica is perfect but the current one just sucks. However i listen to system more because the weird lyrics and powercords just relate to me better. BTW james was voted #24 best metal vocalist of all time, and serj was voted #26. IMO serj can outsing james anyday, but thats just me.

Metallica, I hate System of a Down. I find them annoying. I find that the singers voice literallly hurts my ears.

Definately System of The Down. More bands need to be more politically active and speaking out against corrupt governments. Compared to System of the Down, while they may be a good band Metalica is just another cookie cutted rock band blending in with the establishment and corporate media industry.

If we are talking Ride the Lightning days Metallica I chose that. But compared to the new stuff System kicks their ass

SOAD. It would be a tougher choice if Metallica's songs weren't artificially extended all the time with three minute solos edging in on painfully repetitive. Don't get me wrong, I like Matallica, just they seem too, narcissistic for their own good.
