How do I get the dry cleaning smell out of a suede jacket?

    WHEN DRY CLEANING ALWAYS USE A DRY CLEANER THAT USES A CHEMICAL CALLED GREEN EARTH - THERE IS NO SMELL.

    Next time tell the cleaner you don't wanta pick it up till the smell is gone. But that don't help ya now, and if you complain to the cleaner he'll just say its a psuedo smell and suede is prone to psuedo smells. So any way.. you just need to air it out real good. That's what a concientious cleaner shoulda done in the first place. Outside is gonna be best put it on one a them hangers that will hold its shoulder shape and hang it on a rope in the shade on a breezy day. Set up a fan under it that will blow up and into it and out the sleeves. You could run a rope through the sleeves to hold them out instead of clipping them to something to avoid crimp marks. Don't try anything to mask the smell like airfresheners, that will just make it worse. Lots of air flowing over and thru it is what you want. And in the shade, you don't want the cleaning fluid to evaporate too fast leaving the chemicals behind. Ya wanta blow the wet stuff away. Or so I think. The only suede jacket I ever had got rained on one cold stormy night about 30 miles the other side of Tucumcari, so I never had a chance to have it professionally cleaned. And none of the amatuers I knew wanted to even mess with it. We made moccasin soles out of it.
