  • We are brothers and sisters in Christ. And just like being siblings, we really do love each other but some of the things that one does really bothers the other and vice versa. That is okay. Our Father will straighten everything out in time. With love in Christ.
  • From this Catholic's view point, I don't judge people based on their religious preference (well, if they worshiped the devil, I might be a little weirded out). I have freinds from all walks of life. Do I thinkthere are some who choose based on religious preference, yep. I call them snobs.
  • I am Catholic and my wife is Church of England, we love each other very much with no religious differences. Northern Ireland was hijacked by terrorists seeking to cause a divide by using religion as the dividing factor, hatred between the denominations there was learned and inbred and may take generations to wipe away if ever.
  • Things have changed a lot over the last 40 years in the States. I remember when JFK ran for the presidency and his being Catholic was a huge issue.
  • I can only speak about my own experiences: I recently told my sister, who attends a "non-denominational" church, that I decided I was going to be Catholic and have my kids baptized. She told me I was crazy and started yelling at me. Then every time I spoke to her after that she would be abusive towards me and yell at the drop of a hat. Then she started saying I was mentally ill and that my daughter is just like me. I told her that my daughter is brilliant and she went too far and I will not take this abuse any more. I told her that unless she apologizes to me I will no longer have anything to do with her. That was the last time we spoke to each other. ---It seems that the Catholic church has all kinds of tolerance for other Christian religions, but those religions won't give that tolerance back in return.
