  • I think that if that's what makes them happy, then hey, whatever. It sounds kind of creepy. But I'm not diggin out no ribs. I'm already missing one anyways.
  • Way way over the line. But I can't believe these girls would be stupid enough to do that
  • Oh my goodness yes , This is the first I've heard of such a thing and it makes me feel weak and sick to my stomach to the lengths we will go for a dollar amount 5
  • my daughter models and no good agent will let a model do that
  • I guess if that's what they want, then why not. But I'm tired of seeing clothes that are designed to look great on pencil thin women and imagine if they had to have a couple of ribs removed to get a smaller waist, how those clothes would look on someone who didn't have a small waist. Fashion has gotten way out of hand. I think they should start showing clothes on people of all sizes and shapes so we could see what real people would really look like in them.
  • Wow. That is disgusting. So un-natural, just for the sake of vanity and beauty that will only make them money for a fraction of their life. Sometimes, I feel sick at the lengths some of the higher fashion models are willing to take to be "perfect" for what they do. It's ironic that many of them have a low self-esteem, but they would really be gorgeous if they took pride in the person they were and stopped letting that kind of thing ruin them. It's partially the fault of the model, but I blame a lt of it on the people employing them for making them feel like they have to change their image so drastically to be of high fashion. The fashion industry has overstepped its boundaries, yes. I thought they were going somewhere with banning the un-naturally skinny models, but this is moving 2 steps back.
  • watch the new cutting edge look be chubby and short. to bad they arent keeping their ribs...
  • it overstepped it's bounds years ago....do you remember Twiggy back in the 60s?
  • i think thats going too far, it disgusting and its not natural. fair enough if you are slim or want to diet but to go to extremes like you are describing is ridiculous.
  • Ben- The more natural, the better. I like natural, non-invasive beauty (i.e. sunshine, fresh air, exercise, organic foods, faith, good sex - with my spouse folks) which makes any woman glow!
  • I think it is the definition of 'horror story" : O
  • I think all these skinny models must get some serious help .. they can't be all that well in the up-stairs .. and to think that you look good like that .. bull-sh*t .. they all look like they have AIDS ..
  • I think it's utterly digusting... (and a few other choice words...)
  • What I don't see is, these models are removing ribs. Not everyone in the population has removed ribs. So the clothes they're modeling won't fit even skinny people with all their ribs. So...I don't get it. It's just sick and disturbing.
  • I don't know! People have been trying to alter their appearance for the sake of fashion since the beginning. At least they aren't binding their feet or wearing extreme corsets any more. Both caused terrible, painful deformities and were done for the sake of fashion.
  • I think fashion has TOTALLY overstepped the boundaries! I understand this is an industry where beauty and size matters... but how would any of these models feel if THEIR children wanted to do such a thing... and they prolly will want to the way things are going in society. High fashion models who've done such things to themselves I think should be kinda ashamed at the drastic measures they've taken... Young girls are already having enough trouble w/their self image which has led to a rise in many eating disorders, and other psychological disorder... AISH. This honestly makes me angry. I too am a teenage girl. And I'm soo not a size 2. I feel bad enough I'm not thin enough naturally... Now I have to feel bad for not butchering my body as well?? no good.
  • OMG is that why they look like shit? that is rediculous! I couldn't wait to get my teeth so that I wasn't sunken in the face. And the small waist thing just makes me sick! I am fortunate to have 2 daughters that do not think that skin and bones are pretty, but this seems dangerous to the kids that try to follow that bullshit! makes me want to kill something
  • Rumours can spread like wildfire, but that's all this is--a rumour.
  • Of course it has. Should there be such a standard for women? It sounds like torture!
