  • To some people I guess it does. Now if you were to tell me a brick in a glass box was art, I would have to question it pretty seriously. Yet there it is at the Art Gallery.
  • I guess some people are. I just consider art to be something that makes me stop and think.
  • Because you aren't an artist if what you make isn't art. You're a hack.
  • Art is in the eye of the beholder except when applying for a grant from the government. That is really the only place where a definition of art is necessary. The government must define art in order to subsidize it. Clearly, the best solution is to keep the government out of the art business and let people decide for themselves what they consider art to be to them.
  • Art is pretty subjective. What one person considers art can be considered trash by another. The only person that it really matters to is the person looking at the object in question.
  • art is something you put your heart into a 5 year old drawings are art if they really beleive in it art does not have to be great or wonderful just loved by the person who made it its not art if you made it just to make it no care no heart in it just oh well i splashed some paint now sell it its very hard to sell something you put everything into you want it to have a good home like a baby i work with a girl to went to school for grafic arts because she thought it would be good money not because she liked it
  • No. It doesn't matter. But it is a little disappointing when you have sat somewhere and thought out a piece of work that really does have meaning and symbolism behind it, and someone who doesn't see it refuses to acknowledge it as art. If the person that did it considers it art, and it is more than what the eye can see, then I will take their word for it (even if I didn't care for it). Every work of art has something insightful and "deep" hidden beneath the surface-- just not everyone 'gets' it.
  • It doesn't matter to me. I couldn't tell the difference between a $10 piece of art or a million dollar piece of art work
