AH HA, might i lead you to a book its called international business published by Mcgraw Hill, author is charles w hill, international addition. Chapter 3 discussed cultural diversification within busines. Thats the long answer, it will help u with any business assignment and or other assignment mind if you are not studying at the same academic level the book is pitched at the concepts maybe difficult to grasp. The short answer - q1 - would....in united states - No Globalisation has lead to integration of everything. The driver of globalisation is capitalism. USA is THE Capital of Capitalism due to the support of individualism. The internet is a prime example of a "place" which is accessable to all, which allows people to share view points , some of these view points come from ethinic or cultural attitudes. In india for instance its still considered taboo for a couple to show affection by kissing in public. but in developed nations and developing nations its become a social norm and is accepted. The USA is a good example of cross cultural integration. while "lines" still exist based on cultural barriers these lines are slowly eroding. This is why the US is one of the Great Nations , it does not fully reject cultural norms, but allows for assimalition of these norms.....read the txt. q2 - No - doing so implies creating your own values and norms and thus a suedo culture if u will, either way the value and norms u trying to avoid will be based on cultural norms either u create or have experienced (mainstream stuff)...read the txt q3 - remove yourself from any environment that removes change in other words , u either need to live in some basement locked away from society and thus have no change implications pushed on to you, or u could not live at all. Humans are a funny animal , they learn from experiences they adapt and change to suit environments. We evolve constantly , you reading this and finding gaps in the argument put forward may agree that i am an idiot ...which is ok.... or u may agree with certain points to research...this is change. from the time u wake up in the morning u are constantly changing, maybe u wake up after a hang over and drop the tooth paste ...u create a mental note never do that again...an experience that has generated change, the big Question is if this is short term or long term change. but my lecturer at univ. once said the only constant in the world is change. hope this lecture helped a tad. Ciao

Yes - as far as avoiding the values and norms of other cultures, if you count the 'silent majority' as a culture I would suggest that both Hollywood and the legal system have managed to,,,, : )
