How come when you really need an answer to a question you ask on AB does it take forever for someone to answer! But, when you post more conversational questions you get answers within minutes? Is it simply because people prefer the conversational ones?

Some question, like the "conversational" ones, are alot easier to answer, whereas the 'thought provoking' ones may take time. Or..some people are just tired and don't want to 'get into' lengthy problems. Why? what's up?

Depending on the question, most anyone can answer a conversational question, but if your question is more technical or subject specific, not everyone may be qualified or have the knowledge to answer it.

Well, with the "conversational" questions, many people will have answers to them, and will more readily present their answers. With the more crucial questions (where you have a problem that needs fixing, or such) it's likely few people will have a good answer. And people generally don't answer questions they don't have an answer for. It boils down to the very nature of the questions you ask.
