  • Well that wouldn't much really help them, so they twist it. :3 But I'll present their argument here. Man didn't orignate out of Africa, or in that area- Gawd lyk, crated us like dis there, adn theeeeen, it happend. Lyk, duuuuuuh. Forgive the scarcasm again, but really... it's so very sad.
  • There are differing interpretations for the verse. Without getting into them, note that it only applied to the youngest son of Ham - Canaan. It's true that Ham is the father of many people that came from Africa. AFTER the curse his descendents are said to have founded great empires, Egypt and be important leaders.....not exactly 'cursed'. This passage was misused by many usually to justify racism...in particular the Mormons (who held to this Curse of Ham till the 1970's), but a lot of other Christians have misused this verse too, to varying degrees.
  • The source of this belief is found solely in Mormonism. Because of there belief, black people were not allowed to serve as priests of the Mormon Church until 1978 when the Prophet at the time had a 'revelation' from God saying that the curse was finally over-turned. No actual Christian denomination supports this belief in any way.
  • Could you please disclose the Bible verse that says: "Ham"...was cursed! This "Curse of Ham" seems to linger in the Baptist world!! However, it does not exist in the Bible. When you say, "Why wouldn't the "Curse of Ham" just as easily refer to Caucasian skin tone?", you would be correct, as we do not know Hams skin color. Nevertheless, it was Hams 'son' that was cursed..and that 'son' was named Canaan. [Gen.9:25] It seems that Noahs son "Cush" generated the black race, and there is NO 'curse' here! [Jer. 13:23] Understand...NO race is superior in Gods eyes! Anyone, of any race, who pursues a willingness to worship God HIS way...is embraced! [Acts 10:34, 35]
  • They're just mad cuz jesus was black
  • Is Ham a person or are we talkin about canadian bacon? I only know about the second one... It's tasty!
  • Exactly, in actual fact due to Mesopotamia being the place where man originated God is most likely to be saying the pale ones if that was what He meant! But of course the mark made is not foreclosed and so it has been used for centuries to play the evil "race card!"
  • Pesonally I dont think the various 'races' can be explained by any book in the bible... Thankfully its not the only place to look for answers... It may be that it 'actually' has all the answers or at least some reference to all the questions. But to use something obscure to explain something obscure is just plain stupid. Especially when its used to encourage division and foment hatred. Your logic in the question is brilliant. I wish that I had thought of it... :-)
  • Ham was cursed for the dishonor he showed to his father. The other 2 brothers did the right....the curse had nothing to do with color. Zipporah, Moses wife was a Cushite(black), very beautiful, and an Israelite. Her father, Jethro was a big help to Moses...but Aaron's(Moses brother) wife,Miriam , was cursed because of upbraiding Moses about having married an Ethopian woman!!!! God turned Miriam's skin as that of a white leper....Moses begged him to not do that..so it only lasted a week...... God does not see color.....
  • mmmmmmmm........ham..........
