  • My instinct is to shout "Kip Wells", or "the entire Devilrays bullpen" who must have an ERA too high to be expressed by mere numbers... but actually Kip Wells is still in the Cards rotation and is being a bit more steady now and even winning the occasional game! So really, when you take into consideration the reputations of some other pitchers (based on past performance or on their high salary) then I would say that Kei Igawa has stunk pretty badly (2-3 with 6.79 ERA in 11 starts - not quite as good as Dice-K!), and so too have Bartolo Colon (6-6 in 18 starts, ERA close to 7) and Jason Jennings (2-9 in 18 starts with 6.45 ERA - how come he has been so bad when he pitched so phenomenally at altitude with the Rockies last year?!?). All in all, for sheer awfulness I would have to say the Rays bullpen as a unit would have stunk up Double A ball, let alone the Majors, but if we treat the question as "who has fallen the most below expectation this year?" then I would probably plump for Kei Igawa.
  • Barry Zito. His stats were 6-8 ERA 4.65, and he has a contract worth $141 Million dollars
