  • I'm not familiar with the study but the findings wouldn't surprise me.
  • I think a lot of these gender-related studies are bunk, just there to reinforce our stereotypes. But I would guess that one reason the "take longer to get over a lost love" thing could be true is that men are encouraged to hold in their feelings, to suppress them... which could make it harder and take a lot longer to get over a broken relationship. Whereas a woman is more encouraged to express her feelings and get support from her girlfriends, and thus process the emotions in a healthier way. Just a guess.
  • i think it falls right in line with the general truth that men are less selfish than women
  • I don't know about the truthfullness in that study but as a man who has lost the love and light of his life almost 3 years ago I am still in mourning for her there is not a second that goes by that she is not on my mind in some way or another I have not dadted anyone since my loss my home is surrounded with pictures of her and there are days that I fell I will never get over my loss and move on with life However I wouldn't say that most women would have gotten over it by now I know a few women that lost partners and were still in mourning for theiir loss 10-15 and even 20 years afterwards.
  • They never met my boyfriends.
