  • Yep. I will be more then happy to be in line.
  • Yes when I was in the army I took an oath to do exactly that.
  • Never. I would die for what I believe in, but I would never die for a country. That's stupid. You can defend a way of life, but not a geographical location.
  • Not again.
  • If i am in defence and have given an oath than yes i would die for my country by defending. Being a civilian i may try my best to defend my Country but to be honest i would be doubting myself if i would die for my Country.
  • sorry, no...besides, I'm too old to be drafted or to enlist.
  • No. I don't take propaganda lightly.
  • I would give my life to defend my country and there are a few reasons why: 1) Very few countries offer as much opportunities as the UK. 2) Very few countries are as cosmopolitan, an example for how the world should live. 3) Very few countires view everyone as equal, male/female, black/white etc. 4) Very few countires give an individual as much freedom as the Uk does. My country is far from perfect but it stands for tollerism and peace between all nationalities, that is why I would give my life to defend it.
  • No, but perhaps a cause.
  • My country? No. 'Some' things my country stands for? Absolutely. The people living in my country? Absolutely.
  • Yes, without question! My life in itself means very little compared to the lives of those who gave theirs so that you and I can live in peace. And for the same to hold true for future generations if only my life need be forfeit, HELL YES!!!!!!!!
  • Not a chance. I'm a Christian.....how can you read the Bible and believe that fighting & dying for a nation is the right thing to do? Please.
  • Defend my country? Yes. I am a Christian and an American and I love America, even though it has become an absolutely wicked nation and spat in God's face, I would be willing to die to protect it. As for figthing in the war, if it is a war like this, I cannot say. I am not so much for the war in Iraq. I hate it. I have no desire to fight and kill someone especially if I do not know if they even did anything to my country to start with and that my country invaded theirs for no good reason. I hope that this helps. :) -In the Master's service. Thank you and God bless you!
  • Never. My life is all I have, so I would never waste it as a pawn in a giant game of chess played by idiots.
  • No - its outrageous to even consider. Other countries are really not that bad.
  • I've said this before and I'll say it again. I'll not defend my country, but I'll defend my crib if some asshole tried to bust his way into it and kill me.
  • Yes I would, without hesitation. For my own personal reasons but mostly I love my country.
  • Been there, done that. Got the bullet holes to prove it.
  • Only if I am defending my native soil then give me all you can and I will repel the invader. I request body armor, a rocket launcher and a kick-ass gun. That is a resounding yes.
  • I have laid my life on the line for my country, my way of life, your way of life and for all Americans present and future, many times. Some have said that, "You can defend a way of life, but not geographical location". In many cases, your way of life is determined by your geographical location. The American way of life was afforded to us by the resources that come along with our geographical location. The Industrial Revolution is the turning point for the betterment of the American way of life. This didn't occur in Africa because the geographical location did not provide the resources. Can you trap Alaskan King Crabs off the coast of Japan? Can you go snow skiing in Iraq? During the American Revolution, a geographical location was defended as a means of defending a way of life. That geographical location was America. Some say that what I have done is "stupid". That is fine. I am proud of what I have done. I have shed my blood in more countries than most would ever see in a lifetime. I have stood shoulder to shoulder with people that were more human than most would ever be honored to meet. I have buried friends and brothers and have shed blood and tears, and you would call us "stupid". As I said before that is fine. Just remember, it is people like me and like those who have gone before, that have defended your right to call us "stupid". It's a shame that you weren't willing to defend your own rights.
  • You bet I would. A country is only as strong as the peopel who are willing to defend it and it's freedoms. To not stand up and fight when you are called is to not only leave your country defensless, but also those people who you love as well. It is the highest act of cowardace and treason. People have forgotten that freedom is not a given. It comes at a price and that price is blood through self sacrifice. Someone else gave their life so you could have your freedom. The least you can do is be willing to return the favour and ensure that the dream they died for is allowed to live on in their honour so that our children's children can also be free.
  • Would you love America if it was governed by a government like the Taliban?
  • This question seems one sided - If I say no, I'll be downrated for my opinion, and labeled an America hater, if I say yes, then I am a patriot and a great person. Aren't I a great person even if my opinion differs from yours? Anyway my answer is: Nope - I would have no trouble living somewhere abroad. My abilities as a soldier are not there - I wouldn't want to get sent to be slaughtered by professional soldiers and trained armies.
  • yes ! wouldn't think twice
  • Yes..my country is worth dying for..even though it's politicians made the country ugly in the eyes of the other countries. Ü
  • I already did, once. Yeah, I would again.
  • You betcha.
  • If I thought my freedom was seriously in jeopardy yes...would i give my life to fight in Iraq certainly not
  • If the country was invaded by a hostile and very threating force on the scale of Attila the Huns famous massacres innocent life, then yes I would die for my country. Fortunately this has yet to happen. If this concerns something like dying to defeat terrorism in the world, then I would not die for that cause. If the country as we know it is going to be destroyed, it will be at the hands of a politicians, not religious radicals.
  • No. Maybe some people in my country, though.
  • Not anymore. I am a former Marine, and there was a time when I would have gladly fought and died for my country. I am a mother now, and my life is too precious. Someday my daughter may need me to die protecting her.
  • No. That's just too kinky for me.
  • I did one times war Iraq and Iran I wounded then lost mt brothers, and never because some stupid regime came in power and no one care abut a guy like me or others what we did for them never
  • nope but I'd offer yours in a heartbeat!
  • Fuck no man, i value life.
  • you got to be joking.. we died for other country.... not in this country.
  • Yes because without my country there will not be me
  • Id fight to the death for beliefs and a way of life. Not a country, all that is, is a land mass.
  • I'll even defend you with my life if it came to that.
  • I defend myself, family, and friends, not the actual country, and def not the president.
  • Not for this corrupt government, they can kiss my Hillary Clinton..
  • Seeing as no current country lives up to my desires, I would not give my life for any current country. But, if in the future we unite in a world government that is more liberal and meritocratic than any place around today, then YES that would be a place and a civilization I could be proud to call my home.
  • No, fuck that.
  • for my country hell freaking yeah !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for my country governments fuk no !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Is my country willing to defend my life?
  • Yes. Unquestionably.
  • yes and would again.
  • Been there done that!! Many times actually
  • wouldnt you
  • Nope. I don't support nationalism, and even if I did, I wouldn't defend a country with my life that wouldn't defend my life itself.
  • Negative on that.
  • If I felt that I was needed and I could, then I would be willing. However, my goal would not be to die for my country. To quote George S. Patton, "No b*stard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb b*stard die for his country." That would be my goal.
  • Well will this do. I defended South Africa for years and that was my adopted country. So, would i fight or defend Scotland. You better believe it.
  • well I'm ready to die for my country in case of real threat. I will never die for lobbies or to make rich people to get more rich..
  • I was and I did ////I am and I will if called upon. I think everyone should serve at least two years in the military service.
  • I would defend myself and my fellow man with my life, and I would risk my life to uphold some of the values associated with my country if the need arose, but I would not die to defend the name and title of my country. A nation is meaningless, what means something are the people in it and the values it stands for.
  • well the only reason I will kill someone is for Self defence and nothing else so if my country ask me to go oversea or whatever to kill people for political reasons or else I refuse to do that and I don't care if people call a coward or unpatriotic cuz I'm not doing things to make rich become more rich...
  • Yes, and not enough people are.
  • That all depends on what the cause is.
  • Are you kidding? Not a chance! Countries aren't real, people are real. An American is no more important than an Armenian or Azerbaijinian.
  • As long as I don't have to wear that stupid flag pin.
  • I did for two years and fortunately was never put in that situation. I would surely shoot someone else if it came down to between me or them. If I'm wearing a uniform when I do it, then so be it. Now, however, with events that have happened in our country and the world within the recent past, I'm becoming dis-illusioned to the point that I would most likely only defend the immediate members of my family with my life.
  • I think that everyone should have an obligation to serve in their countries defense. If we had no vonlunteers, where would the country be? failing the requirement that every citizen should serve, the people who do volunteer should be given a hell of a pay raise, and access to the best of everything this country could hope to offer.
  • What did that guy, Rett Butler say in Gone With the Wind, a man who dies for his country is a man who lives forever. That was complete sarcasm on his part, and I'm extremely sorry to say that I wouldn't. I don't know what wars are started for, but I'm guessing more often then not the reasons for such would mock and ridicule patriotism, especially by pretending to value it. Does a soldier doing his rounds and getting shot by a surprise attack die for his country? Maybe the army and newspaper will say it, but in the end he was just a poor fool who didn't pay attention. They got more where that came from anyways, and such an illustrious idea, in my opinion, can't be generic. :( I would protect what's mine and the people I love against invaders as best I could, but I wouldn't want to help anyone make other people's lives a living hell, nor would I want to be a disillusioned pawn in anyone else's buggered up motives. Why do people buy this stuff? Yvan eht nioj! Maybe I'm selfish and cruel, but at least I'm honest about my intentions, or lack thereof.
  • Never... I refuse to die for a strip of material with stripes on, especially as it has done little for me to deserve it... If i was going to die for something, it would be something that feel passionately about, not what some wanker in a suit tells me to...
  • it depends on what we are defending it from going to war to fight ists is not something i would do if there were a country attempting to invade America, then yes, i would
  • hell ya. OO-RAH
  • The army can kiss my ass. I don't give a damn and I would proudly wipe my ass with the flag.
  • i'm living for Pakistan and would die for her if circumstances call for it..constantly living in danger but not scared of it..!!
  • Only if being under attack but I refuse to go anywhere and be the agressor even if some fancy politicians tell me it is for our own good! I am smarter than that!
  • The country I was born in? (USA) No. I don't believe in what it has become. It's original design and foundations (for freedom, liberty, etc.) are legitimate things to be fighting for, but now this country has decided to fight for these things only where and when it would best serve its interests. No. I would not fight for the US. I would fight for Britain, who, even in the dark times of US overshadowing, still retains the air of honor, and justice about it. Britain fights for freedom, but is sucked into the quagmires its involved in out of self-preservation. If Europe ceased to do America's bidding, the US would not like it. If Europe ceased to do America's bidding, this country would be exposed to the consequences of its post-World War II actions, and Europe would rise about in a white and pure light, led, through divine providence, by the United Kingdom.
  • Okay. By WWI, most of the world was under the control of Europe or America. If these places had disposed of their weapons, not just laid them down, most of the world would be forced to comply. Dictators use weapons because they have to in order to achieve their post. If all weapons were gone, not dictator could even rise to power. Certainly, the people with this ingrained personallity would exist, but they would be able to do nothing about for lack of resources and chance of success.
  • No...Why should I become canon foder for a country that could care less if I live or die as long as the power elite make their profits from any war? Would I defend my family? Yes! Would I try to defend my neighbour? Yes, on an individual bases. Beyond that forget it! Do I sound harsh? Maybe, but I understand well the reasons conflicts are fought; for greedy profit and political gain. Forget the "freedom" crap! No war is fought for freedom; only for profit.
  • Would I be downrated if I said "No"?
  • I have served but those days in my life are over.
  • Been there - done that. Why do you ask anyway?
  • MY country? The country of working men and women who build the bridges, teach in the schools, heal in the hospitals? Absolutely. As for the parasites, exploiters, and profiteers who manipulate the common people and present THEMSELVES as the country itself, hell no.
  • Yes. I have done that.
  • YES! I would sir's & mam's
  • More importantly, I am willing to defend "Your Way of Life" as a citizen of this country.
  • If someone gave me a country of my own, naw, they can have it back or maybe I would make a trade. I will trade it for a nice nude beach.
  • If politicians would only declare absolutely unavoidable wars after all other remedies failed. Since they have little competence doing this my answer is "No".
  • hell no,people think their country is the best just coz they were born there.I didn't choose to be born here nor have I chosen anyone of those bunch-of-good-for-nothing individuals to rule me
  • Against whom? Most likely my answer would be no. I believe that my country is an arbitrary set of lines on a map set by some old white guys 200 years ago. I have very little interest in defending my country if it's for rich oil barons who want to become even richer. That being said, I do believe that I have a right to live where I was born and don't think that should be taken away from me. But I also believe that everyone has the right to live here no matter their religion, country, creed as long as they don't interfere with the freedom of anyone else.
  • the problem with the world is that there are far too many people willing to die for their beliefs and too few willing to live for them.
  • I would if all of the rich people joined me.
  • i sure would, to show my love for them. my country is worth better than my life no need to ask i would do it 100 times if i can.
  • NO... unless someone attacks us on our shores. Anything else is BS. The Iraq war is BS and so is the one in Afghanistan. I am a veteran and I know BS when I see it. I am not about to give my life for some old white rich guy so he can keep his mansions and millions. If I am going to fight it's because someone came to these shores and attacked us. Terrorists are different, they do not represent a specific country. They are a separate entity that has to be dealt with differently and we have no clue in the USA how to do it. The saying in WWII was let the other poor idiot die for his country. In other words, fight and live and let them die by killing them. No more Vietnam's, no more Iraq's no more imperialism by the USA please.
  • no. in any way, no.
  • I am not much of a soldier but I am prepared to do what it takes to defend my own country within the permissive will of God.
  • Defense is one thing, but when is the last time that happened? I would not take the word of any Republican president who wanted to invade Country X because "they attacked us." Not after George invaded Iraq, and Reagan invaded Grenada. Grenada!
  • Not under normal circumstances, no. However if aliens invaded, maybe I would then.
  • yes i am willing to defend my corntry whith my blood and life
  • So long as its will is aligned with my own, yes.
