You bet I would. A country is only as strong as the peopel who are willing to defend it and it's freedoms. To not stand up and fight when you are called is to not only leave your country defensless, but also those people who you love as well. It is the highest act of cowardace and treason. People have forgotten that freedom is not a given. It comes at a price and that price is blood through self sacrifice. Someone else gave their life so you could have your freedom. The least you can do is be willing to return the favour and ensure that the dream they died for is allowed to live on in their honour so that our children's children can also be free.

I think that everyone should have an obligation to serve in their countries defense. If we had no vonlunteers, where would the country be? failing the requirement that every citizen should serve, the people who do volunteer should be given a hell of a pay raise, and access to the best of everything this country could hope to offer.

It's original design and foundations (for freedom, liberty, etc.) are legitimate things to be fighting for, but now this country has decided to fight for these things only where and when it would best serve its interests.
