My favorite Jerry Clower story involved an aunt that would visit the Ledbetters regularly to read the Bible to them, and one week Nugene came boiling out from under the porch on his all-fours and bit her. She screamed "Boy get back, what are you doing?" and he replied "I'm playing dog, can't you see?"
