You're reading Will taking synthroid (the medication) cause weight loss regardless of whether or not one still needs the medication/if you no longer have hyperthyroidism?

no i meant whenever the thyroid is under active. sorry. I'm not very educated about this stuff. What basically I was getting at was, does synthoid only cause weight loss when effecting an under active thyroid, or does it cause weight loss when the person who takes it doesn't really need it. That is to say when they haven't got an under active thyroid.

I think if someone with a normal thyroid took synthroid it could make their thyroid become over-active, causing weight loss but a whole lot of other nasty symptoms such as increased heart rate, excessive sweating, heat intolerance, tremors and fatigue, to name but a few
