  • My hubby says it sound like you may have some carpet remnant still wrapped around the cutting blade shaft. If that is not the case try turning the cutting blade a few times to see if the motor may be seized. The motor will be seized if you are unable to turn the blade. Good luck!!
  • There is an ugly possiability that you have managed to seriously damage your engine. Briggs and Strattons are kinda tough though. On inspection, do you see any oil leaks or holes? Holes are a bad sign. Will the shaft rotate freely, with effort, or not at all? If you cord pulls but there is no resistance, it could be a starter problem, not a motor problem.
