Ok so I have a 1970 F-100 got the battery and the alternator checked and the alternator was dead. Then I got a new alternator installed it and now the wires that come out of the voltage regulator well actually just the ground started melting.

    Repair the bad wire and replace the voltage regulator, you can even replace it with an electronic one.
