I am a real dog lover and I love to see dogs running free having a good time, playing or chasing a ball.

I only get annoyed when the dog isn't obedient or starts barking and disturbing other people.

I am annoyed at the owners for not controlling their dogs.

Not at all, as long as the dog is well behaved. I love to see dogs off the leash getting the exercise they need.

One of my neighbors daughters are deathly afraid of dogs and my other neighbor lets her dog runs loose. The dog is big and scary but really the nicest and tamest dog I know but the neighbor girl won't ever come out and play because of the dog and I don't blame her. I talked to the dogs owner and explained but she says the dog jumps the fence and what can she do?? I feel terrible for the girl. I suggested she tie the dog up in the back yard but she thinks thats cruel.....I don't know what the answer is for them but a dog should always be on a leash for the dog's sake and others who are afraid.

Not if the dog is well behaved and under it's master's control. We used to go back[packing with our dogs and they wee always off lead. But they knew right where their positions were supposed to be and they took their job seriously. They were behind me or at my side but never in front. I was pack leader and boss. No funny business allowed. They were off lead but not free. Even the horsepackers were impressed. If you train them properly there is no reason dogs can't go off lead. Though I might make an exception for the northern sled dog breeds who love to run and run.

No it does not anger me to see ppl with their pets using no leash!!I have several small dogs that I do talke to the park, I do not put leashes on them because they stay right by me. Does that make me irresponsible, not hardly. People do still have very few rights so it being theit pet,let them make the decision.

Yes, I've been attacked by a dog before (It's dead now, and caused no long term damage to me) and I dislike seeing any potentially animal out without restraint.

People keep your damn pets under control or don't bring them out, it's that simple.

If the dog is with the owner and under control then it doesn't make me mad. However, if there is a leash law, the dog needs to be on a leash. Behaved or not.

If the dog is in a legally LEASH FREE area, well trained and well socialized...then I find it to be a beautiful thing..watching them run and play fills my heart with joy.

But...any dog running about loose without a human...just breaks my heart...the dog is at risk, the public is at risk...Drivers can CAUSE accidents trying to avoid hitting the dog if it runs into the street. The dog may become frightened and stressed and might bite NOT because it is a "bad" or aggressive dog, but simply due to the level of stress and fear!

I see too often people who have not fully gotten their dog on a solid RECALL, allowing the dog too much liberty off lead...buy a long line of 20 to 30 feet and get the dog trained...the long line allows some freedom until your dog is 100% good to go...on coming when called...

AND PLEASE...if you run across someone who is clearly afraid of your dog...or who SAYS they are afraid for themselves or their own dogs...GET CONTROL OF YOUR DOG...BE CONSIDERATE OF OTHERS OUT TRYING TO ENJOY THEIR DAY TOO...it's not personal...fear is fear...don't add to it!

It depends on the bread, if it's a bull dog or Doberman maybe, but don't bee put off by a dog's size the Labrador is harmless but the pit bulls are evil. Also watch out for mongrels, they may look like a big evil dog, but some are harmless. My dog is a Ridgeback/Labrador mix (the Ridgeback are bread to hunt bears) but he's so harmless it isn't even funny.

I am very angry when I see a dog without a leash My daughter had a tragic encounter while walking to school she saw a huge dog walking without its leash and tried to cross the street to avoid the dog he started to follow her and she got hit by a car. She was hurt badly. I love dogs but I love them even more when they are on their leashes in public especially around kids. Yes dogs need their exercise but it should not cause our children their freedom

i have a small min pin and he is great off a leash. hes a rescue dog (we are his 3rd or 4th family) and he is simply too scared to run to far away. he is the nicest dog and has never bit anyone out of anger. he is extremely obedient and knows simple commands like "this way". i only have a problem with this when he is near cars or an otherwise crowded place. if your dog is like mine, LET HIM OFF THE LEASH (though i wont blame you if you dont)

My dog will NOT use a leash. I cannot get him out and us walk because I have a neighbor who is constantly causing trouble and complaining because he isn't "tied up". My dog NEVER gets out from under my feet. He goes out and sits in my front yard and Is NEVER out of my eyesite.he stays right in front of the door. Now, he has to be tied up at all times. He's a chihuahua..he barks like most dogs do when they see someone strange but he is no threat.I cannot make my dog walk on a leash and I have tried..he's never used a leash and he's 4 1/2. I have NEVER had a problem before. If the dog catcher doesn't have a problem, there should not be a problem. I understand people being scared of dogs but I have a neigbor that will stand outside and tease my dog just to make him bark and then complain when he barks. and NO, I don't agree that any dog should ever be tied up or leashed

It is no problem for me, as long as it is not an aggressive, dangerous dog. I was attacked by dogs as a kid, but now I do not fear them any more, as long as they are not from the kind "killing machine".

I feel fine that the dog gets a possibility to run without a leash.

But I also think that the owner has to be around there immediately if the dog is starting to interfere with people, and call the dog back if the other person looks annoyed. Big dogs or biting dogs should also not be allowed to interfere with unknown children or weak persons, however nice the dogs are supposed to be.

If the dog isn't a crazy one, then yes, it does. Even if the dog is well beahved, it's a law and everyone should follow it. The only time it should be unleashed is in your house or your backyard if it's fenced. I recall a time when I was a child playing in the field behind our house, and the neighbor's dog was unleashed and it knocked me over flat on my feet.

Yes, it can piss me off. I often take my dog walking, and always have him on a leash, for his safety. For all those of you who said you don't mind, or to quote one person, "you like to see dogs run free," you are an irresponsible dog owner, and a disrespectful human being, for not taking others desires into account. When I take my dog for a walk, its our time, us walking to get exercise. Its not hey, look at me dogs without a leash, and run up to me and smell my butt time. When I see a dog without a leash, my dog and I walk a few feet off the trail, to allow the irresponsible and disrespectufl dog owner to pass, and to allow them time to leash their dog. If they do not, and the dog runs up to us, I stick my foot out to try to keep him away from my dog. That never works though, and they always go around my foot. Then the dog push's his way to mine, and I watch intently what he does. The minute my dog does not like what the dog is doing and tries to back away, its over, and time for me to step in. If the aggressor dog keeps going towards my dog, I hit him, hard. This always ends up with the dog running away from me, and the owner yelling, in which I remind him he was breaking the law not having his dog on a leash, and I was simply defending my dog. So if you don't want your dog hit, I suggest you keep him on a leash when you take him outside your property, because not everybody wants to pet him. Its called being responsible.

WOW ! Where i live the dog is to be leashed no longer than 2 meters always and everywhere but on the owners private property. You have to stoop and scoop and need permission from the owner of private property before the dog can even go. Certain ridiculously violent breeds have to be muzzled. It's near a 70 dollar fine for not picking up your dogs business.
I have 2 cats, sisters. They're both fixed, have shots and are declawed. They each own a leash and harness but can no longer go outside on my private property because someone moved in across the street and lets their dog run free when they are outside. The dog tears around the 3 or 4 homes closest to it's home.
I called the humane society and they told me that they could'nt go there and say something like " there's been a complaint, can you please make sure your dog's on a leash ?" They told me I had to do the leg work by taking photos of the dog off the property and submitting them. I'm not talking bout a stray. This dog and owner will be there tomorrow and the day after. Nice to see that the by-laws our community creates are being enforced. Wake up all you lame pet owners. If you can't pick up the crap, if you can't leash it, if you can't shut it up outside................... Don't have it ! You're not a responsible pet owner.

It is only a concern for me in regards to the dogs safety I don't want it to get hit by a car, or if the dog did nip at someone it could get ordered to be put down.

It does, if it is apparent there is no human accompanying it. Because, I feel that the animal may be neglected or in need of help. Dogs rely on humans to protect them as they are domesticated. So I am angry...but not at the animal.

No. I love to see them roam free, even if they are 'naughty' at the time. It gives me pleasure to think that they have 'escaped'. They also encourage me to slow down if I am driving at the time.

No, actually it's no big deal for me. A lot of people where I live just kinda have their dogs walking around with them leashless, and I've never seen a problem come from it.

I hate it. I'm afraid of dogs, I don't like dogs, and I get angry when a dog comes running to me and all the owner says is "They won't bite, they like to be friendly." The owners need to understand that not everyone likes dogs, and that some people are allergic to them.
