My migranes normally go as follows.... . Complete lose of useable sight (no focus, just perifial vision) - about an hour Nothing - about an hour Servere pain (head ache, belly ache) - about 15 hours (sleep through as much as poss and pain killers dont really help) Background pain (pain in the head that is just an annoyance unless my head jerks, it then become almost cripiling for a few seconds) - about 36 hours. . But that is just my migranes

My migraines vary, some last a few hours some a few days. The left side of my face goes numb and droops like in a stroke or I can have flashing lights, nervous ticks and vomitting. I usually just go to bed and darken the room and sleep as much as possible until it goes away.

My migraines will last for days if I don't do anything about them. Sometimes alot of sleep will help, but other times lots of sleep may mean a rebound migraine.

Depends on the ex.

Migraines vary from one headache to another, and from one person to the next. I typically begin with a week long annoyance headache that hurts and does not ease, and can not be eased by meds. I know a migraine is coming and if I move suddenly it will hurt like he_ _ ! It is just there for the most part. Then after the week or so of that, the migraine kicks in and I can barely get up. I have cluster migraines, the longest set lasted 25 days. Nausea, light and sound sensitivity, silver "floaters" in my vision, pain in and behind my eyes, not bieng able to move without it feeling like a jackhammer is going off, severe pain that nothing seems to ease... Twenty-five days..... but most of the time it lasts a week or two.

my migraine will start off as what i think as a headache earlier in the day and throughout the period of about 3-5 hours it progresses to an intense throbbing in one concentrated area. That is the point where i am fully aware that i have a migraine and it last on average about 45 minutes. Sometimes more sometimes less.

Until you get them fixed. I've never let them last more than a couple of days before taking them to my Chiropractor for 'removal'. ;)

I am so lucky to have grown out of mine. I got them at least once a month my entire childhood from about 5-14 yrs. I would get a horrible headache, vomit, and sleep for about 24 hrs. They were awful.

for several hours to days - use imitrex or perscibed med

I found out the hard way that they last just long enough to punish me for some mistake that I supposedly made. The cure was a divorce and as a result her migranes haven't bothered me every since.

migraines can last a couple of hours to a couple of days. i think it's wise to take prophylactic medications; avoid triggers such as cheese, caffeine... ; and take medication at the onset of a migraine that seems to eliminate about one-half of migraines. if you've got a migraine and you're sitting out in the son, listening to your spouse screaming, not taking any medication, then, it's likely going to last a lot longer. while a lot of headaches can be caused by and treated with hydration, migraines sure need much different medication...

Mine can last 2 days, but everyone is different. Thankfully I have medicine that helps.

my migraine will start first thing in the morning my head feels like it is in a vice, with the added nausea and vomiting. What makes me upset is people who think they are experts and say that the Migraines have to last about 3 days to be a migraine. Not True I have them for around 20 Hours the only way to get rid of them for me is to sleep it off.

It depends on the person. If mine get too bad, I go to the doctors, and they usually give me something to knock me out. I've tried the migrane prescription shots, and they just make the migranes worse for me. I think the longest I've let one go on is two days. Usually, they last a day.

I've had migraines with aura's before but this last one seems to have really messed me up. Sunday i had the migraine and took a 2.5mg Zomig pill and then 2 hours later at 1:30am i took another which seems to only cut back the pain enough to allow me to sleep. Thursday i noticed my vision was still not quite back to par as i seem to be disoriented and almost dizzy. Anyone else have problems lasting that long after a migraine? 4-5days?

Mine has been going on for 22 days and counting. I get them at the same time of the month every month-- they're triggered by hormones. My grandma got them, my mom gets them, my aunt gets them-- it boils down to being a genetic problem for me. I didn't have a problem till I tried taking a birth control pill; that made the migraines unbearable and I had to go off the pill-- but unfortunately the migraines didn't disappear. For this migraine I've been to a walk-in clinic, the ER, then my general doctor, the ER a second time, and then I had an adverse reaction to a anti-nausea drug and was back in the ER a third time. I've given up on the ER curing anything, but I have been given a prescription for an awesome pain med-- it's making me somewhat out of it, but the cut on the pain is well worth it! I have found that taking a decongestant anti-histamine or Benedryl helps a lot (it cuts down on the inflammatory response in your brain), also Excedrine Migraine or Advil Migraine, and oddly, Coke helps a lot. And of course sleep! Working with a neurologist, my mom tried 27 different prophylactics; Welbutrin (an antidepressant) was drug number 27-- and it worked. Drugs don't have to be made for migraine relief to help migraines :) And, if it's possible for you financially, visit a neurologist or at least make sure you get a CT scan or MRI to rule out any serious problems. But mostly-- Good luck!

They vary from minutes to days. +5

20 more minutes after the pill is taken. (at least in my case)
