There are alot of people on Ab that just like to start trouble, or tick people off. Just ignore/negative rate the ones that aren't actually answering the questions.
-
Because some people are paranoid and closed minded.
-
Because some people on here ONLY hear negative remarks, maybe they honestly don't know sincerity when they see it because they've had it pounded into them not to ask such questions. People are stupid.

out of context, yes...these questions are valid and so are the passages...but if taken out of context it makes it seem that there are contradictions in the Qur'an. To answer a few of them, I would do all, but I'm on the clock in my office :), the first one and the one that should be seen as most important is the "contradiction" in the final 2 statements about Jesus being born. When both of these statements are put back to back it seems as though they are contradictive, the truth is, Mary had a son from virgin birth that was Jesus of Nazereth PBUH who was/is a great profit and very revered in Islam. The next statement is just stating the fact that Allah is not the father of this child because it implies that God and Mary had a relationship and this can not be. Again, the 2 statements together, I see your question, but to answer it...not a contradiction at all :) okay, I have time, I'll cover them :) I hope this helps "The Jews and Christians say: 'We are the children of God and His loved ones.' Say: 'Why then does He punish you for your sins?" - Surah 5:18 All humans are punished in one way or another by God's will. If I'm not mistaken, this passage is just stating that, regardless of what you believe, God Almighty will hold you to the same standard that He holds to Muslims "The only true faith in God's sight is Islam." - Surah 3:19 This passage is an easy one. It's exactly as it sounds. Islam is the one true religion. Jew's will ask about the Torah and Christians about the Bible and ask how we can be so sure, in the Qur'an, it says that we all have the same God and all things were presented to us at different tims so that we would be able to grow and understand it. The Torah came first, then the Bible, then the Qur'an. It is all the same God and the same religion, just at different parts of development with the Qur'an summing it all up in the end :) I hope this helps answer some of your questions and to answer the original question in the thread, a lot of times we get defensive because the world today hates us. I haven't seen the evening news since september 2001 without hearing the words "Radical Muslim" or "Shiite Militant". I have people I grew up with and people I served in the Marines with that won't speak to me since I'm muslim. It's very easy to get jaded to thinking that everyone wants to find fault with your beliefs when the world is geared to looking for faults. I'm sorry if we seem short tempered...I try not to be...but it's very difficult to get past the negative stereotype that I have a bomb strapped to me because I submit to God's will. Also...sorry for the wall of text
