You could ask a good and loyal friend to be a replacement :) Or put some pillows on a chair and start punching away!

There's nothing wrong with expressing your anger physically. Good for you tho' for wanting to punch out something non-human! I recommend lying face-down on your bed and kicking your feet and bashing your mattress with your fists. At the same time, try to scream into your pillow with a low gutteral scream which you can feel. Do this while thinking about what is making you angry....you will become exhausted, and/or cry....but you will feel relief as you release that negative energy. Anger is an 'energetic' emotion. You need to burn it off. Don't hold it in....anger and depression are the opposite sides of the same coin....hold in anger and that energy attacks YOU on the inside and affects one or several systems of your body.

The precursor to the classical Wing Chun wooden dummy was a tree ... I go to the park every Sunday and beat on a few trees ... I'm gentle enough that I do not smash myself or tear bark from the tree, yet still hard enough that if my bones are not lined up perfectly, it feels like "the tree hits me back" and I am bounced off and away ... when the tree is struck with perfect bone alignment, I can feel my strike penetrate the tree and I am NOT bounced. I just position myself between several trees, as if I am surrounded by attackers, then I move around in a dancing fashion and alternate between moving away from one tree while advancing toward and striking another tree, and so on ... If you really want a light, soft, PADDED striking object, put something in a backpack or duffle bag (suggest laundry) and hang it somewhere. I bought a 6'x6" PVC pipe with 2 screw caps. I glued one end shut, filled the pipe with free sand from the river bank, wrapped the whole thing with a cheap foam mattress, and put that into a canvass tent bag, with a foam pillow on the bottom and another on top ... it gives me a 12" thick, 7' high, 500lb. striking bag that I hang ½" off the floor ... I can reach way up to strike the top of the "head" or do a low foot sweep or "ankle" kick to the bottom, as well as pound away at the middle.
