I know people from Timmins, Ontario (her hometown) and they aren't that fond of her. Well, more along the lines of they aren't fond of how Timmins makes such a big deal that she grew up there. For me, no, not really a fan of the music genre in general, so no real opinion based on Shania herself.

She is coming out with a new Album in 2008 and probably is going to tour!! I loathe Country. However Shania was part of my childhood. Whenever we first came to America I did a talent show singing to her. I still love her music, but I suppose its because her music (though country) isn't songs about dying dogs, little boys who look up to their Daddy's, and stupid fat men who sit around watching football on their asses all day drinking beer (As most other Country Songs refer to).
