  • I'm okay with that. Vote for whatever you want.
  • Just because a person is registered as a certain party does not mean they vote a straight ticket!!!!!!!!! Thats why it is a secret ballot. It doesn't matter what party you are; and you don't have to tell any one; be who you are!!!!!!
  • I disagree with your position and encourage you to reconsider...but I'm OK with it. Why wouldn't I (or any other ABer) be OK? That's what freedom is about, isn't it?
  • well, i'm not gonna lose sleep over it, but i don't understand why you would actually claim the republican party. they have some things in their platform i agree with, but the actual republican politicians don't seem to go by them...
  • I have no objection to anyone being a registered Republican, I think it's rather foolish to commit oneself too fully to one specific political belief system, but if your party membership doesn't influence your vote then I would imagine that aspect is virtually nullified anyway. But I believe that when executed well by a genuinely freethinking, well-meaning politician, and when applied in the appropriate times and circumstances, Republican policies can be good for a nation. I don't think now is a very good time to be a Republican, or that Republican policies (At least as they've been put into action by the last few Republican administrations) are good medicine for the U.S. at this point, but all the same I can respect Republican views and understand where they come from, even if I do disagree with many of them.
  • Jay I think you would be very stupid if you voted straight party lines irregardless of whether or not the candidate is the best one. Just the same way I think the neo con christian right wing nut jobs are a bunch of idiots for saying they will refuse to vote for Mitt Rommney simply because they think his religion is a cult. In the Election in 2006 I did not know enough aboiut Lynn Swann and where he stood on the issues to vot for him even though I am a registered Republican. So I did the samrt thing and went with the evil I already knew about. Besides I don't think Govenor Rendell has really done that bad of a job his first term and so far hasn't done too much this term that I don't agree with.
