Help answer this question below.
There are a couple options.
1 - They just like diet coke better than regular.
2 - They don't want to add hundreds of extra calories to a meal that they already know is big.
3 - They have some sort of medical condition where they need to limit the amount of real sugar they consume so they choose diet coke instead of regular.
In my case, I prefer Diet Coke to drink regardless of calories - or lack thereof. Regular soda tastes like pancake syrup to me.
It is possible they are diabetic and need to watch their sugar intake, but aren't worried about their calorie or fat intake.
It is also possible that they just drink Diet Coke out of habit. Even when you eat a 1500 calorie meal, drinking a few cokes can make it 2000 calories. I suppose they figure every little bit helps.
Would you ask this question of a person who ate a huge meal and drank water?
It makes them feel better about their choice of dining excellence.
I do.. only because I love diet better than the regular!
They might just happen to like diet sodas better than regular sodas.
Many times. At least part of the meal is non-caloric.
I had a friend who was diabetic. He would go into a store and come out with a roll of cookie dough and a diet coke. Made absolutely no sense at all.
Diet Coke contains Aspartame, which makes the body crave Carbohydrates.
So, you think you're getting away with something... two Big Macs and a Diet Coke is a billion times worse than a ham sandwich and a Root Beer.
Some people process sugar differently, and some people just don't like the taste of regular, it may be too strong. So while a bowl of icecream may have the same amount of sugar it doesn't taste the same as a regular soda. Might not have anything to do with caloric intake or weight at all. I don't like sugared sodas and my body doesn't respond to them well either.
To me diet coke is sweeter than regular coke maybe they just want to satisfy a sweet craving. Also some people just like the taste of diet better.
if u want 2 go on a diet u have to quit diet coke, yes diet coke is low in calories it has other chemical substances which are bad very bad and ur better of takiing a normal coke than a diet coke.
Many times. Must be thinking they are doing something right?
oh so its just a taste thing?
when you eat fatty foods and then wash it down with a diet coke the chemicals in the soda that keep you from gaining weight or interrupting your diet also eats up the previous foods entered.
