i havnt recently, I prefer the mobility of a laptop. people do buy "non-laptops" because theyre usually faster, have a much bigger storage capacity and other extra features.

You get more power for less money, they're easier and cheaper to upgrade and repair and I don't need portability. I think I'd be a fool who was easily parted from his money if I bought a laptop. They're perfect for lots of other people though.

A few reasons 1-desktops generally are less expensive 2-I can easily get in and repair a desktop, they are basically all of the same design. Laptops often have weird setups that I don't like to touch.

I like a BIG screen - you cannot get those with laptops. And the relationship between keyboard and screen is fixed. and the keyboard is nasty. And a mouse is nicer than those pats. And if I want to add extra storage to a laptop it has to be s-l-o-w USB. Of course, I can add keyboards, mice and monitors to a laptop. But why pay twice over, once for a bads set on the laptop and once for the good set? If you send a lot of hours at the computer, a good "control head" is worth far mote than the portability of the equipment box.

There are a variety of reasons that desktops are still popular. First of all, laptops are generally more expensive for the specification you're going to get so desktops give you more power for your money. Top spec laptops are far more expensive than their desktop counter parts which means people who need that kind of power (gamers for example) often opt for desktops. Secondly, it's far easier to repair and upgrade desktop computers with new components whereas usually only certain aspects of laptops can be upgraded making them even more expensive in the long run. Desktops are perfectly practical for those who only want to do their computing at home or do not have any requirement to travel with their PC and often makes more financial sense.
