  • Congradulation on your new baby, Is it a boy or girl? It might mean your body is getting back to normal and you will be having your normal period very soon. But to be safe you should talk to your doctor.
  • It means it's time to go see your doctor.
  • Call your doctor. Right away. It could be normal, but it could be something like an infection. Don't take any chances. Call.
  • Was your baby your first, second, third, etc child? Bleeding after giving birth is natural and every woman experiences some degree of it. Your period may take some time to get back into sync after you give birth, as your hormones may still be settling in and need some more adjustment time. Giving birth takes a tremendous toll on our bodies. What you are experiencing may be some pain related to your uterus and vagina healing itself. Your lower stomach pain may also be due to ovulation - it isn't uncommon for women to be able to feel themselves ovulating, especially after giving birth. If you are breast-feeding, this can also run your body down and leave you feeling exhausted and out of sorts. Are you keeping up with eating properly and taking care of yourself, while also caring for your baby? Are you managing to get any sleep at all? All of these factors play a part in our physical health. If you are seriously concerned about your health, the wisest thing for you to do is to see your OB/GYN or GP.
