  • I have lived in the country and in town. There are pros and cons to both. And which is safer I guess would be a matter of opinion. Pros and cons of the country- Pros, PRIVACY!! Letting your animals run around and have loads of freedom, not having to lock your car at night, not having to have shades on all of your windows...Cons, it can be very creepy sometimes, if you are home alone you WILL hear strange noises! People knocking on your door freaked out because they hit an animal, hearing wolves or coyotes! Pros and cons of town/city- Pros, if in trouble someone is always near, closer to gas stations, food, and banks. Cons, the totally annoying neighbor that insists on slamming his truck door 50 different times every morning at 5 a.m., the creepy neighbor that doesn't treat his dog right, not being able to walk around the house wearing next to no clothing. So yes there are pros and cons as to which may be safer. I guess it may also depend on where at you are in the worls too. Well, hope my answer gave some insight to someone. Happy ABagging!

  • I think for the most part, country living is safer. Most people can leave their doors unlocked, their cars unlocked, all our stuff in our yards and such. Nobody comes around much. Nobody peeks in your windows. rarely do we have any crime, let alone murders and rapes. There is one house about 1/2 mile away that was robbed in the 80s and they think it was by a 'friend'. We do have problems with bears occasionally. They will rip into your bird feeders. One problem bear killed a baby goat earlier this spring but they removed the bear. He wasn't even our bear. He was a problem bear they let loose out here. I don't think you can just leave your doors open in a city or town. I don't think you feel very safe leaving all your things out in full view, that you feel safe enough to let your kids roam the neighborhood and explore or go on adventures.
  • Cities are more dangerous simply because they hold people, and people are the most dangerous animals out here. I feel safest way out in the woods. If a man walks up to my door in the woods, I can safely assume that he is dangerous. He knows that I can make that assumption and will be careful how he approaches. I can make a decision to protect myself faster and with more assurance when I am in an unpopulated area. In the city, you can't make that assumption so easily. There are too many people to watch and too many ways for them to hurt me. Animals are straight forward, honest and afraid of me unless they are hungry. Easy to understand.
