Probably not. People raised in the current time and culture have trouble handling it, quite often. Ever hear about Valium? It's an artificial coping mechanism, and Prozac is even a more potent one. Coping requires less effort than functioning, and even though people of a century or two ago were very flexible and resourceful, plopping my greatgrandfather down in modern-day Manhattan would be his unhappy end, I am certain, although he might survive Prosper, Texas, with a little help and comforting. Henry Ford would not just function, but would thrive in any time, as would Edison, as long as it was all about him. There is an advantage to having a massive ego.

Absolutely not, That person would have extreme anxiety. So many choices for everything! I knew this guy who came back from the peace corps (he was in Africa), and he said he couldn't take all the choices back home. In Africa if you needed a hammer (for instance) you'd go to the store's owner and asked for a hammer, he would give you one. Nothing fancy, no choices, just a hammer.
